ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: The Department of Laboratory Medicine of the Geisinger Health System is searching for an AP/CP pathologist to work primarily in Wilkes-Barre, PA at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. Pathology and laboratory services are integrated across the Geisinger System with pathologists at different sites sharing a common workload. The lab performs approximately 10 million billable clinical tests per year; 90,000 surgical pathology cases; and 42,000 cytology cases. The Department includes 33 pathologists and PhDs.
Candidates should be board certified in anatomic pathology or anatomic/clinical pathology. Expertise in gynecologic pathology is required.

GEISINGER WYOMING VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER: Located in Wilkes-Barre, PA, is an acute care hospital that is licensed for 274 beds and houses the only Level II trauma center in Luzerne County. The campus includes the Frank M. and Dorothea Henry Center, The Richard and Marion Pearsall Heart Hospital, the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Unity, a transplant program and the Brain & Spine Tumor Institute. Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre is GWV’s ambulatory campus.
