Position Summary/Description:
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a national leader in innovative clinical care and teaching, is seeking a full time behavioralist/behavioral health faculty member who is passionate about education, patient care, and the development of the next generation of family medicine physicians.

The behavioralist/behavioral health faculty position will be an integral part of the Department of Family Medicine’s behavioral health initiatives. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Clinical: Individual and group therapy sessions in the Family Medicine Center, integration with care coordinators, consultation and co-counseling with providers, quality and process improvements around mental health, and innovative point of care practice model for counseling.
Teaching & Education: Responsible for teaching a variety of learners, including medical students, residents, interns, fellows, and faculty, including senior and executive level. Active precepting, audio-visual reviews, intern support groups, behavioral health didactics, and coaching others on behavior health and career development skills.
Research: All faculty are encouraged to develop a scholarly interest. Clinical faculty are expected to produce a scholarly product, which may include national presentations and should include manuscript submission, at a rate of one every one or two years.
Institutional Citizenship: All faculty are expected to work as part of the larger team to improve access, reduce cost, improve quality, and promote efficiency and better health outcomes. You may be requested to engage in community outreach and attend professional events to assist with program development and building professional relationships with referring providers.

Education and Experience:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of North Carolina. Previous leadership and faculty development experience required, preferably at the executive level in an academic environment.
