Visiting Professor: Psychological Anthropology Webster University

Job Description Summary: The Department of Anthropology and Sociology and the Department of Psychology at Webster University invite applications for a full-time, one-year visiting position in psychological anthropology to begin August 2019. We seek a scholar who can teach courses that examine social and cultural factors that shape mental health, and classes on cross-cultural understandings of mental health. Experience and/or interest in supervising undergraduate research projects is desirable. This is a joint position, with an expected teaching obligation of four (4) courses during the Fall and four (4) courses during the Spring. Priority will be given to candidates who can teach introductory courses in anthropology and psychology.
Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Anthropology, Psychology. or related field. An ABD currently enrolled graduate student will be considered in special cases.
Preferred Qualifications Additional consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate strong interest in mentoring undergraduate research.
Essential Duties We seek a scholar who can teach courses that examine social and cultural factors that shape mental health, and classes on cross-cultural understandings of mental health. This is a joint position, with an expected teaching obligation of 4-4 courses over two semesters. Because it is a joint position, this individual will report to the Chair of the Department of Psychology and the Chair of the Department of Anthropology and Sociology.
