This Psychologist position serves as a full-time neuropsychologist in the Psychology Section within the VA Illiana Health Care Center's Mental Health Service Line (VAIHCS MHSL). Duties include providing neuropsychological assessment and other related services for inpatient and outpatients at VAIHCS and community outpatient clinics. This position is under the direct supervision of the Chief of Psychology. Performs neuropsychological evaluations for inpatients and outpatients who present to the VAIHCS and its community outpatient clinics Provides a full range of psychodiagnostic services including individual and group therapy and psychoeducation with emphasis on neuropsychological interventions. Provides clinical supervision for the neuropsychology technicians. Ensures that all clinical work is documented accurately and in a timely fashion, consistent with the MHSL and facility expectations and policies. Provides clinical care coordination and case management as appropriate. Completes mental health and addiction screenings, clinical reminders, evaluates Veterans for suicidal and homicidal ideation, plan and behavior, provides diagnoses, and ensures that Veterans are linked to appropriate treatments in a timely fashion. Consults with VAIHCS staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. May be involved in program evaluation, teaching, training, and/or research activities. Involved in the Psychology Training Program and Training Committee and may provide clinical supervision to psychology trainees at all levels of training. Actively participates in leadership roles within local, state, and/or national professional organizations. Performs other related professional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
