The Psychologist will be an independently licensed provider with knowledge of behavioral medicine and the implementation and coordination of mental health care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The Psychologist's primary duties will be psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, crises interventions, psychotherapy, and care management services. Based on needs of the department, we would entertain applicants who either have interest in a generalist position. However, applicants specialty training/background/experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply: 1) Primary Care-Mental Health Integration, and/or 2) Geropsychology. Duties include: Providing a full range of psychotherapeutic interventions including individual therapy, group therapy, family counseling, and psychoeducational classes to address identified psychological needs of patients presenting to the clinic. Providing a full range of psychological assessment services to clarify needs of veterans and to facilitate development of a treatment plan. Completing all clinical charting and documentation required by the health care system. Participates fully in peer review and clinical pertinence review to ensure the quality of professional psychology services provided in the organization. Assures that appropriate referrals to specialty programs, including community resources, are accomplished. Promoting patient independence and achievement of optimal health through appropriate psychosocial education and community referrals. Is involved in the training of psychology interns and practicum students as well as students of various disciplines, as appropriate. Serves as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees and assists in their formulation of the psychological characteristics and appropriate treatment expectations regarding their patients. Work Schedule: 08:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Some evening and weekend coverage may be required as a part of a shared department crisis response schedule. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
