General Outpatient Mental Health/ BHIP Social Worker
The general outpatient mental health social worker provides psychosocial assessments and treatment to Veterans needing mental health treatment and provides individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy. The incumbent serves as a member of the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) Team located in general outpatient mental health. The BHIP team works with Veterans with a number of mental health issues including, but not limited to PTSD, MST, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and substance abuse. The BHIP social worker assists Veterans by providing psychosocial assessments, mental health treatment coordination, patient education, case management, walk-in crisis intervention, and referrals to other programs.
