ChristianaCare has a long history of psychologists as members of multidisciplinary teams. We are searching for a full-time health psychologist to work as members of our growing Neurology team.
The primary function of this position is to enhance and improve the quality of patient care at ChristianaCare by providing psychosocial assessment, psychotherapy, consultation and education services for individuals with neurological conditions.
Responsibilities may include program development, collaboration in behavioral research (if interested), and clinical supervision of psychology practicum students, psychology interns, and psychiatry residents.
The work schedule is Monday - Friday; no weeknight and weekend call.
Key Job Duties:
Conducts clinical interviews to provide diagnostic impression, treatment recommendations to neurology patient population. Provides evidenced-based psychological interventions.
Works as a member of multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, case management, psychiatrist) regarding treatment planning and connection to community based services as appropriate.
Provides coordination of care services with patients, families, providers, payment sources and other involved parties.
Actively participates in the design and implementation of research and evaluation projects to assess the effectiveness of and the specific influence of the health psychology component as needed.
Maintains up-to-date information on effective strategies and interventions to address psychological issues and health behavior change for people with (or at risk for) chronic diseases.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Position Qualifications:
Ph.D./Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited psychology program
Pre-doctoral internship from an APA-accredited site
Three to five years of experience in a medical setting (preferred)
Eligible for license in Delaware
