The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Neuropsychology Testing Technician to join our team. In 2017, Dr. Stephen Sands joined our department to develop a new Pediatric Neuropsychology Assessment Program. The program has grown to treat hundreds of patients and survivors each year. In this role, you will work closely with Dr. Sands and the Pediatric Neuropsychology Fellow, as well as our integrated team of Psychologists and Psychiatrists, in managing assessments for our pediatric population and their families.
You will also have the opportunity to engage in local and national clinical research studies focused on documenting effects from medical treatment as well as intervention studies aimed to improve survivorship. Additionally, there are many interesting and valuable opportunities to attend educational programs and lectures at MSKCC and Weil-Cornell that focus on the medical and neuropsychological impacts of cancer and blood disorders.
You Will:
Administer neuropsychological, educational, social-emotional, and behavioral tests to pediatric, adolescent, and young adult oncology patients and survivors.
Provide modifications in testing protocols to accommodate the needs of individual limitations and special populations.
Conduct the scoring of administered tests and complete behavior rating scales from patients, parents, and teachers.
Participate in the education of participants and parents with information regarding potential late effects from their medical treatment, as well as in making specific recommendations for interventions, accommodations, and services that may be beneficial in educational and vocational settings.
Develop in-depth training knowledge in clinical psychology, neuropsychological theory, neuroanatomy, cognitive neuroscience, clinical neurology, neuropsychiatry, neuroimaging, and therapeutic interventions.
Assist in the collection, recording, and scoring of various test data for clinical and/or research purposes.
Assist in clinical research using specific protocol directions under the direct supervision of the attending neuropsychologist.

You Have:
A Master's degree in Psychology with 2+ years of professional experience in assessing infants, children, adolescents, and young adults
Experience working with pediatric populations of various ages
This position will work primarily on-site at our counseling center (641 Lexington Avenue) and pediatric outpatient services location (1275 York Avenue), but can also work remotely on occasion.
