DescriptionAs part of the Mind Brain Behavior Collaborative's clinical care model to integrate behavioral health into the CHECK clinic to meet the demand for behavioral health services for children in Foster Care.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide safe and effective medical care to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center patients. Follows care guideline and treatment protocols for infant; children and adolescent patients and to aid in their mental and physical growth and development. Participates in all department/division activities and initiatives. Maintains good standing in the department.
Primary responsibility will be to spread our innovative model of integrating behavioral health into CHECK clinic for children ages 0 to 17 years in foster care. Provide early intervention and treatment services to children with behavioral health concerns until they can be transitioned to a community mental health agency. This position will be part of a multidisciplinary collaboration (with physicians, nursing, social work, and other providers). As such, the candidate will be integrated into medical teams and expected to effectively communicate and coordinate patient care with each team including training of pediatricians and residents on the integrated care model.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???Patient Care
Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the psychology license, education and experience. Participate in safe, effective and compassionate patient care, commensurate with their level of advancement and responsibility. Interview and assess patients to determine presence of condition/disease and to establish preventive behavioral and mental health practices. Determine nature and extent of impairment, prescribe and administer appropriate behavioral or mental health interventions or assessments. Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data and make decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment and discontinuation of care. May formulate, maintain, support, monitor and modify a patient-specific plan for care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient's assessment.

Provide for the exchange of appropriate patient care and clinical information when patients are admitted, referred, transferred or discharged. Provide data which will contribute to the assessment of a patient's needs, the organization's capability to provide care or treatment and the appropriate level of care.

Maintains good standing in the department by compliance to licensure and credentialing criteria. Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Follow Cincinnati Children's established code of ethical behavior in decisions and actions regarding marketing, admission, transfer, discharge and billing. Review timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information.

???2 years related experience
*Staff Psychologist I or Staff Psychologists II positions available Preferred:PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from APA accredited program. Post doctoral training and experience with integrated behavioral health delivery within a primary care setting.
