Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a 30 hour part-time Mental Health Assistant in the Inpatient Psychiatric unit at Morristown Medical Center to work 2-3 days/week, 12 hour shifts and e/o weekend.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
*Demonstrated knowledge & understanding of psychiatric disorders & patients.
Use therapeutic communication skills in individual & group interactions with psychiatric patients.
Provide 1-to-1 interventions with patients.
Crisis identification & management including de-escalation.
Assist nursing staff with variety of tasks/activities.
Thorough, accurate, timely documentation of tasks/activities.
Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patients and their families.
