Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.
Responsibilities
The Mental Health Technician will assist with care and observe mentally ill patients under thedirection of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Clinical Social Worker. This includes grooming needs and observation of any abnormal behavioral or physical signs.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Excellent written andverbal communication skills.
Strong customer/patient service orientation and commitment to teamwork.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
1 year of direct patient care experience.
2 years of relevant work and/or personalexperience with the seriously mentally ill or individuals with emotional behavior disorders.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
