Job Description
The Cedars-Sinai Share & Care program provides services to at-risk children and adolescents, beginning in 1981 as the Psychological Trauma Center. Our professional counselors deliver services to students who are experiencing emotional and academic challenges due to traumatic situations and stressors. Share & Care provides a group structure to facilitate emotional nurturing, healthy self-esteem, and positive coping skills through a 12-week art therapy curriculum that can result in academic success.
Under supervision of a licensed clinician, the per diem Mental Health Associate at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California provides mental health prevention, intervention and crisis intervention services within school settings and the community at large following a period of observation and training. Incumbents develop partnerships and provide a full range of services consisting of assessment, group therapy, individual and family therapy when appropriate. Participates in team meetings and planning. She/he demonstrates motivation, creativity and serves as a catalyst for effect change. She/he maintains competency/skills including the ability to provide care to special populations with diverse cultural backgrounds. She/he can identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide safe environment.
Conducts assessments of students, as a part of the triage process and for students admitted into the program.
Participates in the treatment planning process by attending treatment team meetings.
Demonstrates sound conceptualization of problems, strengths, goals and objectives; evidences follow through on implementation of approved plans, monitors students progress
Conducts individual, family and group interventions
Collaborates with internal and external sources in providing clinical treatment
Coordinates care for patient and care delivery team as needed
Qualifications
Education:
Master's Degree in Social Worker, Marriage Family Therapy
License/Certifications:
In process or currently have a Board Behavioral Science Associate Designation
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year clinical experience with children and adults
