Job Description:
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 10a-6p; Hours may vary based on unit needs
Maintains the safe and efficient operation of the center by monitoring equipment safety. Performs administrative duties, identifies needs and opportunities, and makes recommendations for change to the manager. Conducts assessments and administers music therapy to patients of all ages. Leads individual and group music therapy sessions. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff. Participates in team and professional meetings, providing input on patient, family, and staff needs. Attends rounds as needed and assists in program development. Instructs and mentors interns to be effective members of the interdisciplinary team. Conducts effective research studies related to music therapy. Attends department meetings, staff in-services, and community presentations. Provides in-services and presentations to hospital staff. Other duties as assigned. Adheres to the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) scope of practice and competencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Entry level competency of Music therapy practice, theory, principle, and applications as defined in competency department policies. [Required] • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. [Required] • Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English. [Required] • Effective Clinical Musicianship Skills [Required]
Education: • Bachelor's [Required]
Field of Study: • in Music Therapy
Work Experience: • 1+ experience as a music therapist in a medical setting. [Preferred]
• Experience with behavioral health and/or geriatric population preferred
Licenses and Certifications: • Board Certified Music Therapist (CBMT) [Required] • Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) [Preferred]

Pay Range:
$22.68 - $42.19
